Age 30 -- Portland, Oregon

I am your average guy. Fun, smart, and interested in new things. I work hard during the week and look forward to the weekend.  Recently I have been getting more and more into cycling, whether that is road biking or mountain biking.  This winter I plan on learning to snowboard- we will just have to wait and see how that goes... my attempt at skiing didn't go very well :)

Currently I am single and not opposed to a showmance (or a romance), however, starting a new relationship with someone under the pressure of Big Brother doesn't sound ideal.  Over the last few years I have really focused on learning who I am.  Pushing myself to try more things and to break out of my shyness-shell.

Being on Big Brother is more than having a shot at half-a-million dollars.  It's about the game, it's about testing myself, and it's about trying new things.  I have always taken the cautious approach to life, never wanting to make waves or push the envelope.  While that may be good at times, it can tend to lead to isolation and boredom.

What I hope to get out of this experience is continued confidence in myself.  That I can do anything as long as I don't doubt myself.  Succeeding, while great, isn't as important as trying and giving it your all.

I have accepted this saying as my life motto: "It's better to be disliked for who you are, then liked for someone you're not."
